We know it can come across pompous to call a recipe "the best" but we also can't deny somethings' fabulousness. After many trials, (we have done our due diligence people!) we would like to introduce you to The Best Brownies. They are rich, fudgy and gosh-darn fantastic. Frankly, they are THE BEST.
The Best Brownies
Ingredients:
Cooking spray, for greasing pan
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cups salted butter
1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
3/4 cups of granulated sugar
3/4 cups light brown sugar
3 whole eggs plus 1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat your oven to 350°F . Cover a square metal baking pan with parchment paper and spray the parchment paper with cooking spray. Set this pan to the side.
To the small bowl, add the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Set this bowl to the side.
To a large bowl, add the chocolate chips and butter. Put this bowl in the microwave and heat on medium high heat for 1 minute. Using a spatula, stir the chocolate mixture and scrape down the sides of the bowl. Heat for 30 seconds more or until the chocolate chips have completely melted.
Using your oven mitts, carefully remove the melted chocolate from the microwave. Add the hazelnut spread to the bowl of chocolate and using the spatula, fold it into the chocolate. Set this bowl to the side.
To the second large bowl, add the eggs, granulated sugar, light brown sugar and vanilla. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture for 2 minutes.
Add the cooled chocolate mixture to the eggs, using a spatula scrape down the sides of the bowl adding every last drop. Add the flour mixture and using the spatula, fold until everything is combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Find your person* and bake the brownies for 35-40 minutes, until the tops of the brownies have cracked slightly.
Find your person* and using the oven mitts, remove brownies from oven and allow to cool completely on a cooling rack before slicing.
Save for later? Store Brownies in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
*Find Your Person is a reference from our kids cookbook 'Baking Wonderland', it is a prompt for young bakers to find a grown up to help them with the oven/stove or complicated bits of the recipe!
