Here's a super idea for school lunches or when you host your kid's next sleep over party! These cheesy gooey muffin-size pizza bites come together in a snap and will satisfy their pizza cravings! Just roll with it!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Rolling pin
Muffin pan
Pizza cutter
Large spoon
Can opener
Oven mitts
Ingredients:
1 pizza dough ball
1 can of pizza sauce
2 cups grated cheese, we like using mozzarella
1/2 cup pepperoni *optional
1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning *optional
Flour for dusting
Cooking spray
1. Preheat your oven to 425° and lightly spray a muffin pan with cooking spray.
2. Sprinkle a clean, flat surface with flour (countertops work great!).
3. Place pizza dough on your floured surface and sprinkle the top with flour.
4. Using a rolling pin, roll dough out into a rectangle, making it nice and flat and about 1/4 of an inch high (about the height of a pea!)
5. Using a large spoon, spoon pizza sauce over rolled out dough. Use the back of your spoon to spread it out, covering the dough with an even layer of sauce.
6. Lightly sprinkle the dough with Italian seasoning, mozzarella and sliced pepperoni.
7. Now let’s turn this rectangle into a log! Working from the longer side of your rectangle, carefully roll the edge of the dough into itself until you’ve made a long tube.
8. Using a pizza cutter, cut the pizza log into 12 even pieces.
9. Place each pizza roll into each cup of your muffin pan and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
10. Using your oven mitts carefully remove pizza rolls from oven.
11. Allow to cool slightly before gobbling them up! Try dipping them in pizza sauce, YUM!
