This recipe for creamy Creme Brûlée is delicious and oh-so-easy to make! She's fancy with out the fuss. Hello fancy pants.
Ingredients:
3 egg yolks
1 cup whipping cream
1/3 cup granulated sugar + extra for torching
1/2 tsp vanilla
1. To a small bowl whisk egg yolks.
2. To another small bowl mix sugar and vanilla.
3. To a large bowl add whipping cream, vanilla sugar and egg yolks, using your electric mixer beat until combined.
4. Pour mixture through a fine mesh sieve, removing any lumps.
5. Pour mixture evenly into 4-6 small ramekins.
6. Carefully place ramekins into a roasting pan.
7. Create a water bath by adding boiling water to the roasting pan. Add enough water to fill 2/3 of the way up the ramekins.
8. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. (You want the centre to be a little jiggly.)
9. Remove ramekins from the water and cool on the counter before chilling in the fridge for 2-3hrs.
10. Once chilled, sprinkle sugar on top. Using a kitchen torch or the broiler setting on your oven, torch sugar until golden brown. Chill for 10-15 minutes before serving.
