Bang for your Buck: DIY Beauty hacks

Updated: Sep 22, 2023

With the rising price of **INSERT JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING** these days, Rach and I are on the constant look out for ways to save money. We also love it when the stuff you buy can serve multi purposes, or as our mom would expertly put it: give you a good bang for your buck!

We've rounded up our favourite ingredients that can serve double duty as diy beauty treatments, 'cause these mamas looooove a little pampering.

Try them, it's like a day at the spa from the comfort of your kitchen!

Cucumber Eye Mask: Using the end of a cucumber, peel off the skin and stick the end in the freezer. Once frozen, apply it to tired eyes like you would apply lip balm.

Coconut Oil Moisturizer: Rub a small chunk of coconut oil in your hands until it returns to its liquid state, then smear all over your face.

Green Tea Eye Mask: Stick wet, used green tea bags in the freezer. Once you have two, remove and place on tired eyes for ten minutes.

Avocado Face Mask: Mush browning avocado into a small bowl like you were making guacamole. Skip the chips and rub all over your face. Wait ten minutes before washing off.

Egg White Skin Tightening Mask: Rub those leftover egg whites on your face and let dry. Wash off after ten minutes.

Rice Water Hair Mask: Soak the rice you plan to cook for dinner in water for ten minutes. Drain, reserving the rice water. Pour rice water onto wet hair. Let it soak in for 10 minutes before shampooing out.

Got any to share? These girls want the goods.
